Requirements to Study in Japan from Nepal

 

Academic Eligibility for Undergraduate Studies (4-year)

  • 10+2 with a minimum 65% (CGPA 2.9) for Humanities and Social Sciences
  • 10+2 with at least 75% marks (CGPA 3.5) for Natural Sciences
  • For Japanese programs: EJU or JLPT
  • For English programs: IELTS or TOEFL
     

Academic Eligibility Postgraduate (Master’s/PhD)

  • Have completed at least 16 years of education (18 years for doctoral course)
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 70% marks (CGPA 3.1) for Natural Sciences and 60% (CGPA 2.5) for Humanities and Social Sciences
  • English proficiency for an English-taught course
  • JLPT or EJU for Japanese-medium programs 
  • Have to be under 35 years of age as of April 1st, 2026
